Dear Havana Club Members,
As many of you are aware, on February 1, 2011 all exemptions to the Maryland Clean Indoor Act of 2007 expired therefore prohibiting the smoking of tobacco products in indoor places that previously received the exemption.
Over the course of the last three (3) years while holding our temporary exemption, we have continued to work with the state and have spent a significant amount of time, effort and dollars to ensure that a permanent exemption is granted and that the Havana Club continues to function as it was originally intended.
While we apologize for not communicating earlier, we were hopeful that with the resources and individuals we had working very hard on securing a permanent exemption during this past year’s 2011 legislative session that an exemption would have been granted. At this time, we are hopeful to reintroduce ourselves in the 2012 legislative session and look forward to positive results.
During this time we hope you and your guests will continue to utilize the Club and its privileges. Please know the management and ownership of the Havana Club continues to believe that an entity established for the enjoyment of fine tobacco in a refined venue, with membership driven by private humidor ownership, deserves the rights and privileges to continue business as it has for the past decade.
We are requesting that all members and guests take the time to update your records and information with General Manager David Holter by email or 410.468.0022 so we can ensure your information and profile are updated and we can continue to communicate with you regarding our progress.
At this time, we have revised our hours of operation for the summer and will be open Thursday through Saturday evenings from 6PM to 2AM. In addition, at any time the Club is available for private events and will open for 20 or more guests.
Sincerely,
|
